“A wandering cellist with a Russian soul” - this is how the legendary musician Mark Drobinsky describes himself, who continues to perform on the world’s most prestigious stages at 80 years old.
He studied at the Moscow Conservatory in the class of the renowned Mstislav Rostropovich, whose direct influence shaped the depth and mastery of his performing art.
Numerous contemporary composers have dedicated their works to him, and it was through his performance that the compositions of innovative composers such as Alfred Schnittke, Sofia Gubaidulina, Edison Denisov, and others were premiered.
