Upon finishing his Symphony No.5, Tchaikovsky wrote that he was contemplating a work that would encapsulate his entire oeuvre.
This work appeared to be Tchaikovsky’s 6th symphony, famously titled "Pathétique," about which the composer wrote in one of his letters: “Without exaggeration, I have poured my entire soul into this symphony.”
"Pathétique" has consistently stood as one of the most popular and frequently performed works by the renowned composer to this day.
Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.6 will lead the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra’s 2023/2024 Concert Season Closing Concert program, which also includes Piano Concerto No.2 by Sergey Rachmaninov.
